I moved to New York as a teenager. We’ve broken up twice when I wandered away to see if the grass was greener on the other side of the Hudson. I moved to Minneapolis then back. Then I moved to Philadelphia and Los Angeles and back. I’m here to stay and here to say – there’s no place better in the USA than New York. If you go looking for better real estate prices you’ll find them elsewhere, but why would you want to live there? That’s what I discovered. I’ll never own, only rent, but the streets are for free and my citizen neighbors irreplaceable. New York is the only place where I feel at home. And, it took me back after my prodigal ventures. You gotta love a city that’ll do that.
